A motorist was taken to hospital on Tuesday evening after he wanted to drive onto the A28 in Assen-Noord, but ended up on the side of the road for an unknown reason. That happened around 11:10 p.m.
The victim was quickly checked for injuries by ambulance personnel, after which it was decided to transport the driver to hospital.
A police car that arrived on the scene got stuck in the central reservation while dealing with the accident. As a result, the entrance and exit of the A28 had to be closed briefly so that a tow truck could pull the car free.
