Driver critical after head-on collision

The accident happened last night around ten o’clock, in the Koolskampstraat. A 41-week-old woman suddenly left her lane and collided with a van. The impact was so violent that the car was thrown. Firefighters had to free her from the car. The forty-something from Lichtervelde was taken to hospital in critical condition. (read more below the photo)

The driver of the van, a man from Pittem, suffered minor injuries. His van has been destroyed, the BMW on the trailer behind the van also has a lot of damage.

The Koolskampstraat was closed for a while due to the accident.
