Terrible accident on Tuesday afternoon around 4.30 p.m. on the A2 near Wollin (Brandenburg)! Just a few kilometers before the state border with Saxony-Anhalt, a truck driver crashed into a traffic jam – and burned to death in his driver’s cab.

A traffic jam had formed due to a previous accident. Apparently the driver had overlooked it and had crashed into the braking truck in front of him.

As a spokesman for the West Police Department announced, two Polish trucks were involved in the accident. The burned driver has not yet been identified, according to a police spokesman.

The fire brigade fought against the spread of the fire because of the burning truck at high pressure, as the surrounding area is extremely dry. “The fire quickly moved into the forest because we had so many dry days,” says Kevin Kujat from the Wollin fire brigade. However, a forest fire could be prevented.

► Unbelievable: According to BZ information, two onlookers on the other side of the highway had nothing better to do than drinking beer and smoking at forest fire level 5 and showing the middle finger to the emergency services.

“It also makes me personally aggressive. We are here on a voluntary basis, have families at home and other things to do, and then it’s sad that the citizens don’t even have the necessary respect, I don’t understand that,” says Kujat.

The Autobahn in the direction of Magdeburg was closed until 8 p.m. The salvage work continued late into the night.
