Driver becomes unwell and hits the side of the house: he dies on the spot, passenger removed in critical condition

Just before 4.30 pm a pick-up truck swerved from the direction of Veurne on the N8. At the height of OC De Sceure, the vehicle came to a stop with a big bang, having previously driven in the opposite lane.

The toll of the accident is heavy. The male driver dies, the female passenger was taken to hospital in critical condition. According to the first signals, the driver had become unwell. No other vehicles were involved in the accident.

The victims are from the Mons area. They drove in the direction of Ypres.
