A motorist was arrested on Saturday night after driving an old Renault at high speed on the A2 near Liempde. The car turned out to be uninsured and there was no valid MOT. The driver also turned out not to have a driver’s license and tested positive for cannabis use.
The motorist was then taken to the police station in Den Bosch. His passenger remained with the car.

After blood was taken from the driver, the officers returned to the A2, towards Eindhoven. There they saw the Renault driving again, this time with the passenger behind the wheel. He also does not have a driver’s license and he also tested positive for cannabis.
This man also had to come along for a blood test. At the police station it turned out that he still had an outstanding fine. He couldn’t pay that, so he now has to go to jail for seven days. The Renault has been seized. Both men could face hefty fines and probably also prison sentences, the police said.
