Drive to the plump, breathe the football

This is exactly where Hertha's heart beat

Hertha barely escaped relegation. The basement child never tires of demanding its own stadium. Hertha used to have it, at the corner of Bellermannstrasse and Behmstrasse.

There she celebrated triumphs between the clock mountain and the magic mountain (the back gate grandstands) more than 90 years ago.

Then came the Bundesliga, Hertha stumbled into scandals. Due to the threat of bankruptcy, the stadium had to be sold off at Plumpe in 1974.

It was demolished and a residential complex built in prefab style.

Today, bronze kickers are reminiscent of Sobek & Co. You will also discover a football field and a bit of green lawn. Next to it is a sign: “Football is forbidden!”

But somehow you can still feel it today: football history was written here. Maybe the tired blue and white football millionaires should come to the football field at the Plumpe.

You need heart and passion again, then it will also work in the Olympic Stadium.
