Dressage World Championships: Team bronze for Germany

Defending champion Germany won the bronze medal in the team classification at the Dressage World Championships in Herning.

Ingrid Klimke with Franziskus, Benjamin Werndl with Famoso, Isabell Werth with Quantaz and Frederic Wandres with Duke of Britain had to admit defeat to host Denmark and Olympic bronze medalist Great Britain.

For the third time in the history of the Dressage World Championships, which dates back to 1966, the gold medal did not go to Germany. A German team had previously won silver in Aachen in 1970 and bronze in Kentucky in 2010.

Isabell Werth delivered the best German individual result in Herning in fifth place.

The best three riders per team were rated. Ingrid Klimke delivered the German discarded result, so she will not be in the Grand Prix Special of the 30 best individual riders on Monday evening.

The 15 best in the special start on Wednesday in the final Grand Prix Freestyle.
