Dressage rider Dinja van Liere from Uden wins Grand Prix in Qatar

Dinja van Liere from Uden and her horse Hartsuijker won two prizes in Doha, Qatar on Saturday. In the Grand Prix she took first prize and in the Grand Prix freestyle to music she finished second. The number one of TeamNL thus confirmed the top position in the world ranking in equestrian sports.

In the Grand Prix, the judges were unanimous and placed Van Liere and her 11-year-old horse in first place. The percentage of 75.152 was the second best result in the Grand Prix ever of the pair.

The Swede Patrick Kittel and his horse Touchdown stayed behind Van Liere during the Grand Prix, but in the freestyle the roles were exactly reversed. The jury members valued the Udense’s test with 78,455 percent and Kittel’s with 80,070 percent.

The dressage rider will soon be seen in Brabant again. In two weeks she will compete with her other horse, Hermès, in the World Cup competition during The Dutch Masters Indoor Brabant in Den Bosch.

She can then travel to the United States with Hartsuijker or Hermes to participate in the World Cup final in Omaha.
