On Monday morning, returnees Thomas Dreßen enjoyed the happy moments in the snow on the smoothly rolled piste in Sölden. “It was really cool. I had a lot of fun,” said Mittenwald in an interview with BR24 Sport.
“It’s nice that I didn’t feel anything from the injury. The knee really played along,” was the first analysis. He has not lost any of his skills either: “I think I was technically worse,” said Dreßen with a smile.
Downhill trainer Evers doesn’t want to “put any pressure” on Dreßen
Downhill trainer Andi Evers was also delighted. “He had a lot of fun on a wonderful winter day like today,” said the Austrian. Nonetheless, he remarked with a wink: “He’s still a long way off the racing pace.”
This season, a return is “not yet an issue”, because they “don’t want to put any pressure” on. Instead, it is now about “that he can now feel again how it feels on skis and that worked wonderfully”. The plan is: “He’s going to keep going on the skis now, plus stamina training,” said the coach.
