The school is in danger of having to close its doors after this school year, because there are too few students, according to the government. That is why he turns off the money tap. The village has started a petition, which has been signed more than 1,300 times. The number of pupils at ‘t Echtenest has been below the so-called termination standard of thirty for the past three years. For the first time, the school even had less than 23 students.
Action group Animal Rights and sheep farmer Stefan Worst from Vledder met in court in The Hague on Tuesday. Through a trial, the action group hopes that the judge will impose a fine on the Drenthe sheep farmer. Animal Rights believes that Worst is not doing enough to protect its animals against the wolf. The Dutch Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority (NVWA) says that Worst has done more than was necessary and therefore does not want to fine him. The verdict in this case is in two weeks.
From 1 July, the temporary emergency shelter for asylum seekers in Assen will become a waiting room for the application center in Ter Apel. The reception of asylum seekers in the Expo Assen is therefore extended until October 1.
