Drenthe mainly has many question marks about the nitrogen approach

The word combination directional goals falls out of Jumelet’s mouth. “The plans are about directional goals.” Jumelet does not yet know what that means exactly. These directional goals also include the now famous map (see above)

Jumelet criticizes that map, which shows by what percentage the nitrogen emissions must be reduced. In some places in Drenthe this has to be up to 70 percent. “The cabinet says about this: the map is a tool. The question is whether it has come across that way. However, few people see it as a tool. You see the map, see the color and you think: ‘that’s how it is’. Maps seem to make everything clear, but people don’t get around to reading the text. You suggest that the map is reality, so it isn’t.”

So many ambiguities and many questions for the provincial government. There will be a meeting with the minister tomorrow. Then those guiding goals are also discussed, and what exactly they mean. That will be one less question mark.
