The ANWB has nominated three campsites in Drenthe for the Camping of the Year 2023 election. People can vote from now until the end of October.
In January it will be announced which campsites have won. A jury of the ANWB has selected sixty campsites in three different categories. Each category has ten Dutch campsites and ten foreign ones.
In the category The best small campsite Camping and Familiehuis De Drenthse Roos from De Wijk and Camping Vorrelveen in Beilen have been nominated. Small campsites are usually located in nature and have no more than sixty (spacious) pitches. “Facilities and activities such as a swimming pool, supermarket or entertainment are often limited or non-existent. You mainly come here for your rest.”
Another category of the ANWB is The most special rental accommodation. Camping De Hondsrug in Eext is on the list there. According to the ANWB, it is becoming ‘more and more popular’ to rent a stay at a campsite. Campsite owners could submit their rental accommodation themselves. A professional jury ultimately made a selection.
In the third category – The best family campsite by the sea – (of course) no Drenthe campsites have been nominated.
The annual ANWB election is organized by KampeerKampioen magazine. According to the ANWB, the categories are adjusted every year.
