Ten finalists are ready for the Drèents Liedtiesfestival. From 8 pm to 10.30 pm tonight they will be on the stage of the Atlas Theater in Emmen where they will compete for the title and a cash prize of 2,000 euros, with which they can record and release their song. The musical battle will be broadcast live on RTV Drenthe.
It is the eleventh edition of the musical event, which is organized annually by Stichting REUR. This foundation is committed to broadening Drenthe-language music. “We are now busy with the final preparations. The flight of an Italian jury member has been cancelled, so we now have to come up with something for that at the last minute. It is not ideal, but that will probably work out as well,” says organizer Bert Kamping on behalf of the REUR Foundation.
