According to the event organizer, the performance stage purchased by the subcontractor was the wrong type.

The American prog metal band Dream Theater’s Friday night concert at the Raksila ice hall in Oulu has been canceled for security reasons, the event organizer All Things Live Finland Oy informs.
CEO of All Things Live Finland Toni Peiju says that the fault lies with the subcontractor.
– The stage ordered from the subcontractor has not met the specifications that the band needed and what we ordered, Peiju says to Iltalehte.
– What was explained to me was some printing and hanging issues, that is, the stage was not durable enough that Produktion could have built it on it, Peiju explains.
Peiju does not say who the subcontractor was.
What is the subcontractor’s responsibility?
– I can’t say anything about this at the moment, but this will be thoroughly investigated. That’s why it’s going there at the moment, otherwise this wouldn’t have been cancelled, Peiju answers.
Decision on cancellation
Peiju says that he was told about the incomplete performance stage at half past seven in the evening.
– They have tried to build it during the day and this kind of thing has survived, says Peiju.
The decision to cancel was made early in the evening. It was not possible to get a replacement performance stage with this schedule.
– Regrettable, very regrettable event, Peiju describes the cancellation.
A replacement gig?
The ticket money will be returned, Peiju assures, if a replacement concert cannot be arranged.
– Next week we can discuss whether a replacement gig is possible when the band’s agency is caught. They will continue their European tour in any case, says Peiju.
Peiju says he is sorry for both the organizer and Dream Theater.
– I want to emphasize that it was not the fault of the orchestra or the organizer, says Peiju.
– A sad event happened, which should not happen under any circumstances, he continues.
