The season couldn’t have started better for Johannes Lochner. After his victory on Friday in the two-man bobsleigh, the man from Berchtesgaden also prevailed on Saturday. In the opening race in the four-man bobsleigh, Lochner won ahead of Francesco Friedrich and Kaizhi Sun. The Chinese had a sensational lead after the first round and ended up third.

It is the greatest success of a Chinese in the four-man bobsleigh. On Friday, Team Sun came eleventh and last in the two-man competition when Lochner won. Friedrich also took second place at the start.
A private duel between the two dominators was also expected on Saturday in the supreme discipline. Friedrich triumphed ahead of Lochner in the 2022 Olympic race. The overall World Cup in pairs and fours as well as the World Championship titles also went to Germany last winter.
The appearance of the Olympia-16 Sun was all the more surprising. However, the 26-year-old only had a lead of 0.02 seconds over Lochner and 0.05 seconds over Friedrich.
