Drama in Essen: car falls from 18 meter high parking garage, two teenagers died | Car

A police spokesman confirms the suspicion that reckless driving was the cause of the tragic accident. “The driver of the VW Golf probably lost control of the vehicle around 7:20 p.m., after which it fell down and crashed,” said a police spokesman. “We are in the process of securing tracks on the top parking deck. It appears that there was some reckless driving that led to this serious accident.”

Emergency services rushed to the scene after the accident. The fire brigade struggled to get the two occupants, two boys aged 16 and 19, from the completely destroyed wreck. In the end, the car had to be cut open completely. The car came to a stop on its driver’s side on the sidewalk in front of the parking lot. Rescuers found two young men who were unresponsive in the totally deformed vehicle,” a spokesman said.

The two occupants were resuscitated by emergency services and taken to hospital in critical condition. Both men eventually died of their injuries. Relatives and friends of the two victims gathered at the scene of the accident in the evening. A woman collapsed at the sight of the wreckage and had to be taken to hospital.
