Drake recently went on a mini flight: The Twitter account @CelebJets, which follows celebrity flights, tweeted that Drake flew from his hometown of Toronto to Hamilton – both in the state of Ontario – the distance being just 38 flight miles and only lasted 14 minutes. According to the tracking, the flight consumed 1,522 liters of fuel and generated four tons of CO₂ emissions. Now Drake has to take a lot of criticism.

~ 402 gallons (1,522 liters).
~ 2,694 lbs (1,222 kg) of jet fuel used.

The rapper himself says the flight was a logistical journey from one airport to another and he wasn’t actually on board. He justified himself as follows, saying: “It’s all about them getting the planes to the airport where they are stored, for anyone interested in the logistics. Nobody sits in it.”
Despite his statement, people on social media are deeply upset by this action. Toronto tech reporter Temur Durrani wrote on Twitter: “Canadians complain about climate change and then pay thousands to attend the next Drake concert and pretend he doesn’t take his private jet from Hamilton to Toronto flies”.

Writer and filmmaker Jesse Hawken also commented. He wrote: “Drake is part of the problem, taking multiple 15-minute flights to and from Hamilton while the environment collapses. Dude, take the GO train ffs”.

The Guardian also included the flight in an article about celebrity getaways and also criticized other short flights – including Floyd Mayweather, Kylie Jenner, Kim Kardashian and Mark Wahlberg.
Earlier in July, Drake was criticized for charging high ticket prices for a Young Money reunion concert he is hosting in Toronto in August, which will also feature Nicki Minaj and Lil Wayne. The tickets were sold out immediately. The company Ticketmaster then offered the resale prices for 600 to 2,000 dollars.
