Two weeks ago, two fans were hit by a car after a Drake concert.
Drake has remembered two fans who died. Mother and daughter died after the musician’s concert.
Drake: Fans should show love
The Canadian rapper paused his concert for the memorial moment. “You never know what someone else’s reality is when they leave this building,” Drake said in Buffalo, New York. He then went on to remember two fans. “This young mother and her child, may they rest in peace,” said the musician. He urged those present at this performance on the “It’s All A Blur – Big As The What?” tour to show love to the people around them. “In this moment, when we are all together, all 18,000 people, here is what I want you to do. I want you to turn to someone you don’t know. Not someone you came with, but someone stranger,” Drake began his wish to the audience. “I want you to look the person in the eyes and prove to yourself that you are grateful for life. Take five seconds out of your day and make someone’s day better. Just show them love because you never know what will happen next.”
Death in traffic
Laticha Bracero and her daughter Alyssa Cordova died in a traffic accident on February 13, immediately following Drake and J. Cole’s performance at the Enterprise Center in St. Louis, Missouri. In footage from the evening you can see a car driving through a red light at around 112 km/h, dragging the two of them along. Bracero died at the scene, and Cordova died later in the hospital, according to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department. The suspected driver was arrested and faces a penalty for negligent homicide.
Laticha Bracero’s sister is leading a fundraiser for the funeral, before the deceased have to be brought back to their hometown of Chicago, from where they traveled to the Drake concert. A total of almost $40,000 has already been raised and the goal is $100,000. “Lety worked hard as a bank branch manager and was a dedicated mother and a loving sister, niece, cousin,” the description reads. “Their only child, Alyssa, was attending college and working part-time at Starbucks. Alyssa loved concerts and even when she was old enough to go to them alone, her mother always came with her. The two were inseparable and had a strong connection.”
