‘Dragqueens, glitter and hilarity with a serious undertone during Rainbow Festival Emmen’

Drag queens, glitter, pink inflatable flamingos to float on and love and respect for the LGBTIQ+ community. These are the main ingredients of the second edition of the Rainbow Festival in Emmen, which will be held on the Raadhuisplein on 27 August. The event is in the hands of the Cocoloco Foundation.

“After two years of postponement due to corona, we are allowed again”, organizer Wesly Struik of the foundation told SO!34. “And we listened to the audience that came to the first edition. People missed the drag queens then, and now the very best drag queens in the Netherlands come to give a dazzling show during the festival.”

Five well-known Dutch drag queens are the main act during the festival. “In 2019 we thought that Emmen would not be ready yet, but now we know better,” says Struik. “For this festival we can proudly say that we have finalists from ‘Drag Race Holland’ (a television series on Videoland) and two members of the jury of the program ‘Make Up Your Mind’ (television program at RTL) on stage. ” They are Vanessa Cartier, My Little Puny, Keta Minaj, Tabitha and Deedee, Struik announces.
