Akira Toriyama, the creator of the popular “Dragon Ball” manga series, was born in Nagoya on April 5, 1955 and died in Tokyo on March 1, 2024 at the age of 68. Born in Aichi Prefecture in central Japan, Toriyama made his debut in 1978, gaining popularity after the release of his manga “Dr. Slump”. He then became a series on the weekly Shukan Shonen Jump in 1980.
