The fatal car accident in Ekehaar last night is on the Dr. Nassau College Quintus in Assen hit like a bomb. All five victims are or were at school there.
A girl from Assen died in the accident on Hemmenweg. Four others, two boys and two girls, were injured. The car they were traveling in hit a tree around 2:15 a.m. last night.
“Everyone is terribly sad about it,” says school director Ralf Buiter. “It’s a terrible message. You lose a student, that makes a huge impression.”
Three of the injured are still on Dr. Nassau, the fourth, was at the school until last year.
At the Quintus location, the school is organizing a meeting for students and teachers tomorrow afternoon, where they can talk about the event. Employees of Victim Support and welfare organizations will also be present.
In addition, next week, at the start of the new school year, attention will be paid to the accident.
