Second division soccer team 1. FC Magdeburg has a new club president. dr Jörg Biastoch was elected to office without a dissenting vote, the promoted announced on Wednesday evening.
On July 1, the 58-year-old will succeed Peter Fechner, who did not stand for re-election. Fechner will remain with the club as honorary president.
Biastoch is the managing partner of the Humanas Group and, with his company, jersey partner of 1. FC Magdeburg. At the beginning of the corona pandemic, he also worked for the association on a voluntary basis as a hygiene officer.
