The successful magazine brand Flow is moving from DPG media to Roularta Media Netherlands. DPG media sells Flow to focus more on sharpening its portfolio of brands. Roularta is happy with the title. Flow Magazine, together with their recently purchased titles Happinez, Psychology Magazine and Yoga by Happinez, can be part of a strong ‘mind & body’ domain.
Flow Magazine has been around for 15 years. The magazine focuses on creativity, mindfulness and relaxation. Joyce Nieuwenhuijs, Director of Magazines at DPG says: “The strategy at DPG Media Magazines is to accelerate digital, maintain print levels and make an impact in society. We do this by successfully joining forces within the domains of women, kids, entertainment and interior.” Joyce is convinced that Flow Magazine can develop further with a new publisher.
Irene Smit, creative director and one of the founders: “Flow Magazine has been a brand for 15 years that inspires people all over the world with life lessons about how to live life differently. Slower, simpler, with attention to what is really important. I look back on a very wonderful period in which we were able to take advantage of great opportunities for Flow Magazine and have reached where we are now. I look forward to continuing to build this wonderful brand together with my Roularta colleagues.”
The takeover is still subject to advice from the works council of DPG Media and Roularta Media Nederland. The acquisition of Flow is an important strategic spearhead for Roularta in strengthening its position on the Dutch magazine market. Flow is the latest in a long line of acquired titles, such as Happinez, Psychologie Magazine and Helden. Erwin van Luit, CEO of Roularta Media Netherlands: “I am very pleased that we can add Flow Magazine to our portfolio. Together with the recently purchased titles Happinez, Psychology Magazine and Yoga by Happinez, Flow Magazine forms a strong ‘mind & body’ family. I am therefore convinced that by joining forces we will achieve further development and growth of these wonderful brands and Roularta Media Netherlands.”
