GERMANY: – HARDLY CHANGED – After a little turbulent start to the week, the Dax (DAX 40) should be moderately up on Tuesday. The broker IG appraised the leading German index two hours before the start 0.2 percent higher to 13,842 points, which is approaching the round mark of 14,000 points. Robust Wall Street is providing a bit of a tailwind. Weak US economic data the night before in New York trading supported the expectation that the US Federal Reserve could exercise more caution in raising interest rates after the recent major steps. This scheme characterizes the recovery rally on the world stock exchanges. Since the July low of around 12,400 points, the leading German index has gained eleven percent and is currently at its highest level for more than two months. Economic data such as US industrial production will provide further signals for the state of the US economy on Tuesday. On the corporate side, the reporting season has come to an end.

USA: – GAINS – Wall Street continued its recent uptrend into the new week. The Dow Jones Industrial (Dow Jones 30 Industrial) climbed to its highest level in almost three and a half months on Monday, closing 0.45 percent higher at 33,912.44 points. The leading US index has recovered by around 14 percent since mid-June. The market-wide S&P 500 rose 0.40 percent on Monday to 4297.14 points. The tech-heavy NASDAQ 100 gained 0.75 percent to 13,667.18 points.

ASIA: – CONFIDENT – Investors on Asia’s major bourses held back on Tuesday. The day before, weak Chinese economic data had pushed global recession concerns back into focus. The Hang Seng index (Hang Seng) in the Hong Kong SAR was last up 0.1 percent and the CSI 300 index (CSI 300), which lists the 300 most important companies in mainland China, was up 0.1 percent. The leading Japanese index Nikkei 225 was hardly changed shortly before the end of trading.
