Dozens of farmers with tractors in Uden to protest

Farmers drove their tractors into the center of Uden on Friday evening to protest against the nitrogen policy. Since half past nine in the evening, dozens of tractors have been standing on the central square on the Markt in Uden. “We will remain standing for a while. We don’t know how long,” says one of the farmers present.

According to the farmer, they drove ‘slowly and honking’ towards the center. “We are now standing still on the square at the Market. We are not blocking anything. Everyone can drive in and out,” said the farmer, who says that there is a lot of support from bystanders on site.

Farmers against nitrogen policy
Signs with texts such as ‘We fight for freedom for all Dutch people’ and ‘The Hague is a beautiful city, but with this …… cabinet, the whole of the Netherlands will come to a standstill’ have been stuck on the tractors of the farmers.

The protest is one in a series of many. Tractors also appeared in various places in Brabant on Thursday evening. In this way, the farmers want to draw attention to the consequences of the government’s nitrogen plans.
