Dozens of farmers with tractors in Uden to protest

Farmers drove their tractors into the center of Uden on Friday evening to protest against the nitrogen policy. Around eleven o’clock there are still a few farmers on a square at the Market in Uden.

According to one of the farmers, they drove ‘slowly and honking’ towards the center around nine o’clock. “We have been standing still on a square with parking spaces on the Market since half past nine. We are not blocking anything. Everyone can drive in and out,” said the farmer.

Around eleven o’clock there are still some farmers on the square. A bystander reports that a group of farmers has entered a cafe.

Farmers against nitrogen policy
Signs with texts have been pasted on the tractors. It contains various slogans, including ‘we fight for freedom for all Dutch people’ and ‘The Hague is a beautiful city, but with this …… cabinet the whole of the Netherlands will come to a standstill’.

The protest is one in a series of many. Tractors also appeared in various places in Brabant on Thursday evening. In this way, the farmers want to draw attention to the consequences of the government’s nitrogen plans.
