Dozens of containers have been set on fire in Assen in recent days. These are containers in the Assen-Oost, Pittelo and Noorderpark districts. An average of ten containers per district were set on fire.
The municipality of Assen is concerned, because old and new are yet to come. That is why the municipality is calling on people to put the container out of sight. Assen also reminds residents to quickly return the garbage cans that are on the road to their homes.
Assen is more often ravaged by fire. For example, there have been several suspicious car fires in the provincial capital in the past year.
