Dozens of cars fined during a major police action in Schagen

During a major police action on the Groeneweg along the N245 in Schagen, 66 fines were issued yesterday. These range from driving without a driver’s license, not making hands-free calls and having a loose load. 150 vehicles were checked.

The inspection was in the parking lot of Schagen United football club. Given the understaffing of the police, other teams were reinforced to help the Schagen police with this check, Marijke Kaptein of the Schagen police told local broadcaster Noordkop Central, who took a look. Customs and the Tax Authorities also participated in the audit. Cars were taken off the road and led to the site, where the cars and the drivers’ documents were checked.

There were also motorists who could not show their driver’s license and therefore received a fine. Other people drove on the road without insurance or were able to drive their vehicles faster than the permitted speed. Seven vehicles have been seized let the police know.
