The cosmetics retailer Douglas GmbH closed the first quarter of the 2023/24 financial year with a solid increase in sales. This emerges from preliminary figures that the company published on Monday.
Accordingly, group sales in the period from October to December reached around 1.56 billion euros, which corresponded to an increase of 8.3 percent compared to the same quarter of the previous year. Like-for-like sales increased by 7.5 percent.
According to the available results, sales in the branches increased by 7.1 percent. In online business, the previous year’s level was even exceeded by 10.7 percent.
CEO Sander van der Laan drew a positive conclusion from the latest developments: “We are very satisfied with the results of the first quarter and are on track with our growth goals,” he said in a statement. The retailer is “on a very good track” to achieve its goal of increasing annual sales to five billion euros by 2026, said van der Laan.
In the last financial year 2022/23, which ended at the end of September, Douglas achieved record sales of 4.09 billion euros.
