Almost everyone has missed it, but Kalvijn has been on television for the past eight weeks with what should have been the successor to The Voice: The Talent Scouts. But what did he say in the final?!
The Talent Scouts should have become the new talent show in the Netherlands after the demise of The Voice of Holland, but hardly anyone watched it. The presentation was in the hands of Kalvijn, whose previous show Avastars also failed. He claimed last night in the live final on SBS 6 that a huge number of people voted.
Calvin distrusted
Tina Nijkamp, who was at the helm of that TV channel for years, doesn’t believe it. She points out that with 273 thousand viewers, the final had ‘downright horror figures’. “Usually when something is live, that raises the numbers a bit. But not on this show. What a drama. Again less than Laughing At Home Videos”, she says on her analysis channel.
The Mediapark whisperer distrusts Calvin. “He was still talking about ‘tens of thousands of people have voted’ in the broadcast. Is that correct? With these viewing figures?”
Chessboards
Fortunately for everyone involved, the show is now over, according to Tina. “For John de Mol in his head, that was probably already the case after he saw the ratings of the first episode. In any case, John always moves eight chessboards forward.”
She continues: “I suspect no talent show on SBS 6 for the time being after this talent show disaster year 2023: Avastars, Ministars, De Nix Factor and now this. And I also wonder if RTL 4 will continue with their announced singing duo talent show after seeing these numbers. Think they’re going to cancel that.”
Can’t be ignored
After the live final of The Talent Scouts, the last episode of the Johnny de Mol show De Kwis met Ballen was also shown. Where that live broadcast scored 4 percent market share in the commercial target group, Johnny reached 14 percent. He attracted 564 thousand viewers.
Tina: “The quiz turned out to be a successful comeback for Johnny de Mol. Even so successful that Johnny can not be ignored on TV this fall. His father John has put him on three programmes: season two of these, Ranking the Talent and Camping in the Wild, with caravans and families traveling through Botswana.”
