Glynor Plet’s era at Telstar seems to be coming to an end. The striker of the White Lions is very doubtful whether he will stay in Velsen-Zuid after the summer. “Honestly, I’m thinking of quitting here,” says the 36-year-old attacker. “My gut tells me to do other things.”
Recently, just like last year, Plet received a letter of resignation stating that his expiring contract would not be renewed. According to the club, the ball was at the striker, but now it seems to be out. “I’m going on vacation first and think about it for a while. So I can’t pronounce it yet and it can still turn around.”
Last week Plet said that the chance is still fifty-fifty, but the sentiment now seems to have turned. “It is difficult to express that in percentages, but I will list everything and it will become clear in the near future,” said the striker who was in the spotlight before the duel with NAC Breda (2-1 win). was sidelined after becoming the league’s all-time leading goalscorer last week.

Plet played his 200th game for Telstar tonight, but the question is whether he will ever wear the white shirt of the Velsen players again. The 36-year-old striker is in his second period with the White Lions. He was first active in Velsen-Zuid from 2008-2010 and forced a transfer to Heracles Almelo. The club’s top scorer in competition came back in 2019 and had not forgotten to score.
