Double strike Lahdo helps AZ with a simple practice victory

AZ defeated trainer John van den Brom’s Lech Poznan without having to make too much effort. The Alkmaarders won 4-0, thanks to two goals from Mayckel Lahdo. The Poles did not get further than a shot on the crossbar throughout the game.

AZ took on the Poles without Tijjani Reijnders and Milos Kerkez. The former is busy completing his transfer to AC Milan. The Hungarian left back is struggling with a slight injury and was missing in Dirkshorn.

Vangelis Pavlidis made the opening goal for the Alkmaarders. After an individual action by the Greek, in which he outplayed a number of defenders, Pavlidis scored: 1-0. It could have been even better for the striker. He headed a Yukinari Sugawara cross wide.

After the break, the chances – despite the limited opposition from Lech Poznan – remained scarce. AZ didn’t get further than a long shot from Jordy Clasie for a long time. It was even the Poles who killed a huge opportunity. Filip Marchwiński was free in front of goal out of nowhere and spooned the ball onto the crossbar. Mathew Ryan was then barely able to clean up.

The resistance of the visitors was completely broken in the final phase. First Mayckel Lahdo made it 2-0 after a dribble, moments later a defender from Lech Poznan himself gave the last tap (3-0). Lahdo also made AZ’s fourth just before the end.

AZ will practice again in Dirkshorn next Wednesday. Then from 6.30 pm Norwich CIty is the opponent.
