Unranked Markéta Vondroušová, 24, has won women’s singles Wimbledon.

In the final, Vondroušová defeated Ons Jabeur directly in two sets, 6–4, 6–4.

The Czech Vondroušová was unplaced in the tournament, but still went on to win it. Jabeur also played in the singles final last year, but lost that time as well.

Vondroušová’s intention before the final was to become the most tattooed Wimbledon winner of all.

In 2019, he played in the final of the French Open and at that time he only had a small star tattoo on his left wrist.

Since then, he has had more tattoos. On his right elbow is the slogan “no rain, no flowers”. It reminds him to enjoy the good times in life.

He has tattooed the number 777, two dice, the letter F and two sitting fairies on his left hand.

He’s not even sure how many tattoos he has in total.

– For me it is also art. I just like them. I appreciate people who do these things, he stated For The Sun.

– I have made a bet with my coach. If I win the Grand Slam, he has to get one tattoo too, he continued.

Vondroušová was the first women’s finalist in 60 years to be unplaced in the tournament.
