Seventeen gymnasts from DOS Dwingeloo/Diever took part in the RWS-B placing match on Saturday. It delivered four individual podium finishes and a series of other great results.
The competition for our senior gymnasts started at 8 o’clock in the morning. With their eyes only just open, they also put down a very nice score on the floor. Ingrid Jongebloed surprised both herself and the team with a first place. After floor, jump, bridge and beam followed. In the final standings, the team (Lieke van de Belt, Maud Russchen, Tessa Smit, Cailin Houwer and Ingrid Jongebloed) finished in second place. In addition, Maud finished first in the individual all-around.
At the end of the afternoon it was the turn of the other gymnasts from DOS. The middle school started on a jump. In the training sessions we had been working on a new jump. Pretty exciting. Rosa Bode and Lise van de Brandhof both scored high in this section. After the jump, bridge, beam and floor followed. On beam, Sophie van der Aa surprised with a very neat exercise.
nerve-wracking
The team of Tara Bruggink, Tessa van de Belt, Sophie, Lise and Iris Bode came first. The team of Rosa, Fenna Bams, Mirthe Sjabbens and Mara Boelen finished in third place in the other group.
The superstructure started on the nerve-racking appliance beam. All three girls showed neat exercises here and scored high. As a team, the girls finished in first place, but individually they also scored. Esmeralda Zwambag and Sofie Bode both won a silver medal and Silke Oosterveen was first in the all-around.
All in all a good game for the girls of DOS. With four team podium places and four podium places in the individual all-around.
