The new coaching team at Borussia Dortmund is apparently taking shape. A familiar face should become the BVB assistant coach – who, however, has already been to Schalke 04 twice.
According to media reports, the former Heynckes assistant Peter Hermann is to become the assistant to the new coach Edin Terzic at Borussia Dortmund. While the appointment of Terzic to the position of head coach at the German runners-up is considered certain, there is a question mark over Hermann’s engagement. The 70-year-old currently has a contract with the German Football Association (DFB) as an assistant coach for the U20 juniors. However, Hermann was recently released from the association to help out at FC Schalke 04 as assistant coach to interim coach Mike Büskens. He was recently said goodbye to the newly promoted Bundesliga team.
After the separation from Marco Rose on Friday, the Terzic personnel has not been officially confirmed at BVB either. Terzic, who was also Rose’s predecessor in Dortmund, is a self-confessed BVB fan, very popular with the fans and led the club to victory in the 2021 DFB Cup. In addition to Hermann, the 39-year-old Terzic will be supported by Sebastian Geppert, the Dortmund U17 coach.
