Berlin retail is in an existential crisis. Current figures show what the real state of trade is.
Corona, war, energy costs and inflation have caused sales figures to collapse in many industries. The number of bankruptcies and vacancies are increasing.
The dealers feel that our customers’ money is no longer so easy.
We all have to save, but that doesn’t mean we can abandon retailers. We have to continue to treat ourselves and continue to support local retail. So that the structures in the neighborhood are preserved.
Retail plays an important role there. Marketplaces of all kinds are always social places of encounter. Berlin needs retail!
