The operation of the mobile payment application Mobilepay changed at the turn of the year, and you can no longer use it to pay for purchases in Kesko and S Group brick-and-mortar stores.
Mobilepay said last fall that the merger with Norwegian Vipps also means moving to a new technical platform. For this reason, it was announced that paying with a bluetooth connection at the payment terminal will cease for the time being.
The change entered into force on January 1, 2024, so if you have tried to use Mobilepay at the store’s checkout in vain this year, the most likely reason for the non-functionality is the application’s technical change.
Mobilepay has said it is exploring the possibility of bringing the features back to the new Mobilepay app.
