Donations for the earthquake victims in Turkey are stacked up here

There are high and flat loaded pallets. All start from Rosenthal by truck via BER as additional cargo from Turkish Airlines to Turkey. Medicines, blankets, children’s hats – everything that the earthquake victims need.

Remzi Kaplan actually wanted to start his new doner kebab production here. Skewers that go out into the world from Reinickendorf, including vegan products.

But now the rooms are being used differently: more than 300 Berliners have made their donations here. Now there’s a sign on the fence: acceptance stop!

“Enormous what was put together in such a short time,” said Franziska Giffey (44, SPD), as she walks through the rows with the many boxes.

Helpers read about the campaign on social media and came to pack. “Nobody wanted to take a break, not even to drink. One cyclist even arrived from Rostock completely frozen,” says Junior Birol Kaplan.

At BER, the donations are initially stored in the ILA hall. The first flight with donations went to the city of Adana, where several 17-storey buildings collapsed.
