Trump is going to release a book of letters he received from various celebrities throughout his career. The letters were sent to Trump by big names like Oprah Winfrey and Princess Diana. But most exciting of all seems to be the delicate correspondence between Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.
Trump has not yet released a memoir, but this is already the second book since his presidency. According to Axios, which released the news, 150 private letters will be published spanning more than 40 years. The letters are not just everyday conversations, but came from people like Hillary Clinton and Richard Nixon.
The most controversial name listed is without a doubt North Korean leader Kim Jong-un. In 2018, Trump said he and Kim were “really hard on each other, but then fell in love.” He clarified that Kim Jong-un has written him very nice letters.
Oprah Winfrey’s letter was sent to Trump in 2000 when he first hesitated to run for president. Even if it was then for the Reform Party and not for the Republicans. The letter said, according to Axios: “Too bad we can’t run for president together. What a team we would be”. When Trump stood up for the Republicans in 2015, Winfrey never spoke to him again.
The book comes with a hefty price tag. It would cost $99 and $399 for a signed copy. According to the publisher, the book will contain letters from presidents, kings and celebrities. Each with photos and an opinion of Trump.
