dominoes not as popular as lego blocks

While Ruben Nicolai scored great viewing figures with the Lego blocks from LEGO Masters during the corona crisis, his current show with dominoes is not a success. Is the viewer tired of infantile TV?

The RTL 4 show Domino Challenge sees the viewing figures continue to decline week after week. Where the premiere episode still did well with 873 thousand viewers (19% market share), the second episode only managed to captivate 708 thousand viewers (17%). And episode three? Yesterday it reached 626 thousand viewers (15%).

Reuben collapses

Ruben Nicolai had to compete with football yesterday with his domino show, but the downward trend is clearly visible. The balloon show of Chantal Janzen and Martijn Krabbé is also not exactly a viewer’s magnet. Is the viewer tired of the genre ‘infantile TV’?

TV connoisseurs think it is in any case too much† They find it a bit sad that A-stars such as Chantal, Martijn and Ruben are put on one childish program after the other. “It’s all childish entertainment,” said media journalist Marcus den Blanken of the AD.

Football on one

Most people went for football last night: Netherlands – Poland scored 1.8 million viewers (44%). The registration was broadcast on NPO 1, which means that Even Tot Hier has been postponed to tonight.

Clumsy, thinks TV connoisseur Tina Nijkamp. “The Dutch national team will be back on NPO 3 next Tuesday. I’m just so curious about the why of this big shuffle. Because it breaks continuity in this way.”

Hunting season

SBS 6 took bronze in prime time last night thanks to the TV version of The Hunting Season. This time 552 thousand people (14%) watched it. The Samantha Steenwijk show De Hollandse Nieuwe subsequently scored just as badly as last week, namely 383 thousand viewers (9%).

The other most viewed titles in prime time were Eens De Zee Tekeer with 530 thousand viewers (12%) on NPO 2, De 1 Percent Quiz with 478 thousand viewers (12%) on RTL 4 and Nieuwsuur with 376 thousand viewers (9 %) on NPO 2.

Viewing figures

Programs that also did not make the top 15 include Hart van Nederland (394 thousand) and Lachen om home videos (291 thousand).
