The DSV quartet wants to win an individual medal at the Biathlon World Championships in Nove Mesto. At the start are the recovered Benedikt Doll and Philipp Nawrath, who was convincing in the mixed relay.

The best ski hunters are looking for the world sprint champion on Saturday. Johannes Kühn and Philipp Horn complete the German line-up over the 10 kilometers.

Doll is co-favorite with two wins

At the home World Championships last year in Oberhof, the German men were unable to win a medal. This time it could definitely work. In the current season, Benedikt Doll has already won two sprint races and can compete for precious metal. After a “little cold” he launches an attack on the strong Norwegians, who, led by Johannes Thingnes Bö, dominate the World Cup rankings. “I do have hope that we can perform quite well in the sprint with the men’s team,” said Doll, also referring to Nawrath and Kühn, who arrived at the World Cup in top form.

New opportunity for Nawrath

After the flop in the mixed relay, this is Nawrath’s second chance at precious metal. Despite a less than perfect shooting performance, the Allgäu native delivered a strong race and confirmed his good form. With places one and three, he can already boast two podium places in the shortest individual competition.
