Double whammy on deadline day
On Deadline Day in Turkey, Süper Lig club Besiktas signed Albanian international Ernest Muci from Legia Warsaw. The 1.80 meter tall midfielder will be a record departure for the Poles (statistics); the Ekstraklasa club is said to be collecting around 10 million euros in transfer fee. In addition, the “black eagles” have another last-minute addition in the form of Braga’s Al-Musrati.
The two-footed Muci moved from his home country to Legia in 2021 for 500,000 euros, where he can now look forward to twenty times this amount. At Besiktas, too, the professional becomes the most expensive purchase in the club’s history, ahead of players like Ricardo Quaresma, Demba Ba & Co. (statistics). The 22-year-old has 31 scorers in 114 competitive games in Warsaw, and Muci has increased his market value in recent years to the current high of 8 million euros (see history). It is unclear to what extent the Poles secured a resale share as part of the deal. The Albanian was recently linked to the English FC Fulham.

According to consistent media reports, Al-Musrati’s execution is also imminent; Besiktas has already applied for a license for the Libyan to register for the squad from the Turkish Football Association (TFF). Al-Musrati’s contract in Portugal runs until 2026.
