Toothache is the election quiz with Diederik Ebbinge in which two Dutch nationals teams compete against each other: a left and a right team. The first episode, which attracted almost 300 thousand viewers, included a question about Albert Verlinde. He is a member of the city council of Vught on behalf of the VVD, where he lives part-time.

Dolf criticizes Albert

When Sjuul Paradijs calls the Shownieuws expert a ‘valued’ member of the VVD, Dolf Jansen comes in with a spicy sneer: “If you have a party where Albert Verlinde is appreciated, that says so much about that party!”

Iris van Lunenburg, who, like Sjuul, was in camp on the right, then jumps in the gap for her Shownieuws colleague Albert: “Well, yes. Albert is a very nice man with a lot of knowledge, he is a nice colleague.”

terrible man

Dolf is not convinced. “Albert Verlinde is a completely unreliable, terrible man.”

Iris: “Well, I disagree!”

Hanneke Groenteman agrees with Dolf: “That really is a wolf in sheep’s clothing.”

Although Rutger Castricum is the team captain of Sjuul and Iris, he agrees with Dolf: “He does have a point here, of course.”

Unreliable

Dolf: “You can’t say: ‘Albert Verlinde is a nice man.’”

Iris: “I think he’s a very nice man.”

Hanneke: “Yes, what is nice?”

Dolf: “I don’t think he’s completely reliable.”

When presenter Diederik Ebbinge reminds him not to be so sour, Dolf corrects himself: “He is one of the nicest gossips in the Netherlands.”
