Dogs show what they can do with the police and defense at K9 in Koksijde

Dogs are important colleagues for the special intervention units, defense and police. Not only a dog that can jump out of a helicopter or overpower a criminal, the four-legged friends are also used for sexual offenses and ICT problems, among other things.

“We have three dogs on the West Coast, both drug and patrol dogs. We share this with the RIHO police zone, which has three, and the Vlas region, which also has three,” says Nicholas Paelinck, chief of the West Coast police zone. The police zones also cooperate with Antwerp.

The dogs can no longer be ignored by the police. “Thanks to the cooperation, we have a patrol and drug dog available every day.”
