Residents of the Plantsoenbuurt in Groningen have hung up signs in the park in response to the shortening of the off-leash route for dogs.
After complaints from local residents, it was decided to close the path where dogs are allowed to walk freely. Local residents who were walking their four-legged friends in the Noorderplantsoen were not expecting this. After much wrangling, the area where dogs do not have to be on a leash was reduced by 180 meters.
Under the municipal signs that make this clear, dog owners hung signs on Sunday afternoon saying: ‘It will be free!’
