The little Maltese that was dumped in the canal by his owner last month has a new owner. And that is none other than Giovanni Cafaro, the savior of the four-legged friend. Little ‘Gio’ was severely neglected, but after some care in the animal shelter, his basket is finally somewhere safe. “When we received the redeeming phone call, we cried with joy,” says Giovanni. It seems crystal clear to the new owner that the dog has undoubtedly experienced traumatic events: “For some reason he does not dare to walk past the refrigerator.”
