Dog rescued from freezing water, firefighter checked for hypothermia

A dog ended up in the water this morning along the Oeverzwaluwpad in Teteringen. It is unclear how this could happen, but there is ice on some of this water.

The Teteringen fire brigade came to the Oeverzwaluwpad and one of the volunteer firefighters went into the water, but could not reach the dog. Because the water was so cold, the man quickly returned to dry land. An ambulance worker rushed to the Oeverzwaluwpad to check the firefighter, but he did not appear to be hypothermic.

A surface rescue team from Made then managed to get the animal onto dry land.
