The sad discovery was made by someone who drove past the bus stop around 6:30 am in the morning. The dog was tied to the bus shelter and an owner was nowhere to be seen. The woman called the police and the Waterland Animal Ambulance took care of the animal.
It is suspected that the animal was left on purpose. Police are investigating the matter, a spokesperson for the animal ambulance said.
