Is Borussia Dortmund hitting big rivals FC Bayern? BVB should be interested in signing Marcel Sabitzer. Sports director Sebastian Kehl is publicly covered.
“So if I think about what has been written in the last few days and weeks, how many players have already signed with us, then I would simply ask that I neither comment on it nor give any status to any talks,” said the BVB manager during the Dortmund test match at Rot-Weiss Erfurt (2: 1) to “Sky”.
“We’ll think about how we want to improve further,” Kehl explained and explained: “We’ve been in good talks for a long time and have different options. The transfer window is still open for a very, very long time. So just be patient.”
FC Bayern would probably let Sabitzer go
A few days ago, “Bild” first reported on BVB’s interest in Sabitzer. Bayern are reportedly ready to let the central midfielder go for a transfer fee of 15 million euros.
The 29-year-old was loaned to Manchester United in the second half of last season. The Premier League club announced a few weeks ago that the cooperation would not be continued. At FC Bayern, the competition is tough with Joshua Kimmich, Leon Goretzka, Konrad Laimer and Ryan Gravenberch.
BVB coach Terzic urges patience
The black and yellow would still need in midfield center. With Jude Bellingham (Real Madrid) and Mahmoud Dahoud (Brighton & Hove Albion), BVB has given up two players in this position. So far, only Felix Nmecha (previously at VfL Wolfsburg) has come as a replacement.
“It’s important to me that we make good transfers, not quick transfers,” head coach Edin Terzic recently warned to be patient. The transfer window runs until September 1st.
