Does he go or does he stay? There is still no clarity as to where Robert Lewandowski will score his goals next season. According to a report, the Bayern attacker has chosen Spain as a target.
It is still unclear whether top striker Robert Lewandowski will continue to hunt for goals for FC Bayern beyond the summer. His contract in Munich expires in 2023 and the Pole has not yet received an offer to sign an extension.
If the record champion still wants to collect a fee for his exceptional attacker, a sale must take place this summer. The disagreement between the two parties at such a late stage of the season opens the space for speculation. The latest comes from Spain and says things could get serious between the world footballer and FC Barcelona.
The Spanish “Sport” reports that the soon to be 34-year-old Pole wants to leave Munich and sign one last major contract in his career. What speaks for it would be the close connection between Lewandowski’s advisor Pini Zahavi and Barcelona President Joan Laporta.
After the departure of Lionel Messi, the club is also looking for a suitable successor who still fits into the tightly knit financial concept of the clammy Catalans. Allegedly, Barça wanted to offer Lewandowski a four-year contract and increase its international appeal with Lewandowski.
According to “Sport Bild”, however, it is not yet certain that Lewandowski actually wants to turn his back on Munich. According to the newspaper, the reigning world footballer tends to stay with the record champions, to which he switched in 2014.
